Pietro Bonfilio was born in Scansano, a small village of Tuscany (Italy) in 1990.
He graduated at “Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi” in Milan and completed a Master’s degree in performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. During the years of studies he had the chanche to deepen the study of music with several renowned musicians as Vincenzo Balzani, Victor Sangiorgio, Jean ‐Marc Luisada, Michele Campanella, Giuseppe Andaloro and Lang Lang.
Pietro performs regularly in Italy and abroad. He has performed in the USA (Carnegie Hall in New York, NYU and Cornell University in Ithaca), London (Pushkin House), in various cities of Sweden, Norway, Luxembourg (Conservatoire de la Ville), Scotland (Stevenson Hall and in the Royal Concert Hall of Glasgow), Honk Kong (Youth Theatre), Romania (Neamt Piano Festival), Mexico (Centro Cultural Bicentenario in Mexico City), Cambodia (Phnom Penh Piano Festival Meta House), Thailand (Bangkok Piano Festival, Siam Ratchada Auditorium), Turkey (Milli Reasurans Hall).
He has performed frequently in Milan, most notably at Teatro alla Scala, in the Salone Napoleonico of Palazzo Serbelloni, in the Royal Palace, in the Puccini hall and in the Verdi hall, in the great hall of Casa Verdi, in Villa Litta Borromeo Visconti for Società Umanitaria, in the Gaber Hall for the Società dei Concerti.
He has played in various Italian cities, in particular in Florence’s Salone dei Cinquecento of Palazzo Vecchio, at Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice, in Naples at Villa Pignatelli-Rothschild , Teatro Civico in Como and A. Ricci Academy in Udine .
He performed as a soloist with Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, Luxembourg Philharmonia Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra “Mihail Jora” Bacau, Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, Reggio Calabria “Francesco Cilea” Orchestra, Milli Reasurans Orchestra Istanbul.
During the years of musical education, he won several competitions such as: XXV Ibla Grand Prize, XII edition of the International competition Monterosa Kaway, XX edition of the competition Riviera della Versilia held in Viareggio, II edition of the competition Agimus held in Florence, XI edition of the national competition Riviera Etrusca held in Livorno, V edition of the competition Lissonum Young Performers held in Milan, IX edition of the International competition New Horizons held in Arezzo.
In 2014 has been awarded by the International Association of Richard Wagner and he had the chanche to attend to the Richard Wagner Bayreuth Festival.
The most important newspapers and music Magazines such as Corriere della Sera, La Repubblica, La Nazione, Amadeus and Suonare News have given him glowing reviews and RAI TV News (TG1) have interviewed him. He played live several times for the National Service Radio Rai 3 and Radio Classica.
In 2017 has been released a CD for the dutch label Brilliant Classics dedicated to the Russian composer Dimitri Kabalevsky.
